Friday 5/6
The kittens are all starting to open their keys. Some are further along than others, but I can see their little blue eyes. Not sure if they can see anything yet, but they are getting stronger. They still army crawl but its only a short time before they start to walk.
Had a small break through with Karma today. Since we weighed the kitten last week I thought I should weigh again and see where they were and they really needed their toenails cut. So one by one I took them out of the box and did a light brushing (to get them used to the feel), I weighed them and then cut their teeny tiny toenails. They all screamed like I was torturing them. Karma was not happy with me, she slowly creeped out of her "safe" area to see exactly what I was doing to her little ones. When I got to the last one, she could barely stand it and came out to retrieve her baby. It was really good timing that my phone started to ring so we took about an hour break. Then I went down and pulled Karma out. She was very scared, but once I started to brush her to realized she likes it and started to purr and knead my leg. Then she started rubbing her head against my hand. FINALLY!!!!! she seeing that being a pet could be nice. BREAK THROUGH!
Now what you are all really waiting for - the kittens
The littlest Tabby we have determined is a little girl. She opened her eyes first and is quite active. She likes to be held and is not very vocal. She is happy to just let her siblings lay on her and she is always the last one to eat. This little girl weighed in at 8 and 3/8 ounces. She has gained over 3 ounces in a week.
The little white with tabby spots is also a little girl. She barely has her eyes open, is the most independent and likes to let you know when she is upset. She is the most active of the group and always seems to be searching for where mom and her siblings are. She weighed in at 10 ounces. That's almost a 4 ounce gain. Karma is doing such a great job.
The all gray kitten is a boy and is quite the chunk! Every time I check on him he is eating. He is a very loud eater and gets really upset is if you interupt him. He has really developed his voice this week and likes to get his mom all upset when he is taken away. His eyes are barely open and he isn't that active yet. This bruiser weighed in at 10 and 1/8 ounces. This one gained just over 4 ounces this week.
The last one is the other brown tabby and is a little boy. He also likes to eat, but isn't as upset as his brother when interupted. He was the second to open his eyes. He prefers to lay on top of all his brother & sisters. He is the one I'm always having to look for because he likes to be underneath mom and his siblings.
So now that we know what sex each kitten is, we need names for them. I gave you each a description of what each personality is like. Now its up to you to help me with names.
