The kitty stake out

Wed 4/27

The plan today is to watch from a distance where Karma comes from and them follow her back to hopefully then location of the kittens. After last nights search we are a little worried that the kitten may not be alive. We searched every possible building and didn't hear a single meow.

So Kathy and I met up at an abounded farm house at 6:15pm and started our stake out. We could see Theresa's back porch and now all we had to do was cross our fingers that Karma showed up to eat dinner. 6:30 came and nothing then 7:00 and we were getting restless. Then finally 7:15 here she comes. She took her time eating then slowly retreated. The chase was on.

We stayed out of sight and followed her to the garage where I had a gut feeling the kittens were. But she decided to go mousing. I followed her across a field then thru and apartment complex then an abandoned car lot. Then suddenly she realized I was behind her and took off like a bullet. I lost sight of her.

Kathy and I decided the head back to out cars when all of a sudden we see her head into that garage. Hope was resurrected. The lady that owned the garage knew we were trying to catch Karma and let us hang out on her property. This night her son happened to be over and he helped us go thru the garage. Just as we were calling it a night he found 4 tiny kittens stashed in an old recycle bin that had a patio umbrella in it. They were alive!!!!!! Plus they were warm and had full bellies.

Then we found Karma under a shelf but she proved to be smarted than 4 adults and escaped. What a defeat. We found the babies but couldn't catch momma. After a call to paws and purrs humane society we got instructions to put a heating pad under the babies and watch for mom to come to back.

Everyone else went home and Kathy and I sat in my car to resume our kitty stake out. After an hour of freezing in the cat we saw Karma return. She was so scared to go into the garage. At 11pm we decided to call it a night and hope Karma didn't move her babies overnight. It's hard to believe after 3 days of trying to catch her we were once again unsuccessful.

Check in tomorrow for more if the story.

I have been watching painstakingly over here too. I am so glad the kittens are alive and well. I will keep my fingers croseed that you are able to successfully catch momma and babies.

that's "crossed" not croseed...typing is not one of my skills.
